1:1 LEADERSHIP COACHING & ADVISORY

Whether you are preparing for one difficult conversation, stepping into a larger role or navigating a complex leadership situation, The Fifth Cut provides practical 1:1 coaching to help you identify the real issue, clarify your next move and act with greater confidence.

1:1 leadership coaching and advisory for workplace challenges

CHOOSE THE LEVEL OF SUPPORT YOU NEED

Not every leadership problem needs the same level of support. Some issues need one focused session. Others need repeated practice, broader development or ongoing advisory. Start with the option that best matches what you are dealing with now.

Four ways to work through the leadership challenge in front of you

The Cut Session

One immediate issue. One focused session.

A 90-minute coaching session for a specific leadership challenge that needs clarity, preparation or rehearsal now.

Best for:

  • a difficult conversation

  • a stakeholder meeting

  • an important decision

  • a presentation or briefing

  • an immediate confidence or authority issue

Focused Coaching Programmes

One leadership area. Six structured sessions.

For recurring leadership challenges that need more than one conversation. These programmes combine coaching, practical frameworks, application between sessions and review.

Examples include:

  • executive presence

  • difficult conversations

  • stakeholder influence

  • delegation

  • leadership under pressure

  • decision-making

  • team culture

  • change leadership

Facets

Broader development across several leadership areas.

A personalised coaching journey for leaders who are not dealing with one isolated issue, but several connected areas such as confidence, influence, presence, judgement, courage or self-management.

The Leadership Layer Audit helps shape the pathway around what will make the biggest difference.

The Forge

Long-term coaching and advisory.

For leaders who want sustained development over a longer period, combining 1:1 coaching, live workplace application, selected Fifth Cut programmes and ongoing strategic advisory.

Best suited to:

  • senior leadership development

  • complex or evolving challenges

  • broader capability building

  • long-term implementation

  • selected Fifth Cut course material converted into coached development

EXPLORE SPECIFIC COACHING TOPICS

Already know what you want help with?

You may not need a broad leadership programme. You may already know the specific issue you want to work on.

Explore focused coaching across executive presence, difficult conversations, delegation, stakeholder influence, decision-making, team culture, leadership under pressure, communication, change and more.

Each topic can be approached as either a focused 90-minute session or a structured six-session coaching programme.

NOT SURE WHERE TO BEGIN?

You do not need to diagnose the problem before you enquire.

Sometimes the issue is obvious. Sometimes it is not.

You may know that something in your leadership is not working as well as it should, but still be unsure whether the real problem is confidence, communication, priorities, judgement, team dynamics or something deeper.

That is where the initial conversation helps.

We will look at what is happening, why it matters now, what you have already tried and what outcome you need. From there, I can recommend the most useful starting point without pushing you into a larger programme than the issue requires.

1. Tell me what you are dealing with
Share the issue, situation or leadership challenge in your own words.

2. We identify what sits underneath it
The conversation is considered against the five Leadership Layers: Capability, Momentum, Presence, Wisdom and Legacy.

3. You receive a recommended pathway
That might be a 90-minute session, a focused six-session programme, Facets or a longer-term Forge engagement.

No pressure to choose the right coaching option first. The purpose of the initial conversation is to work that out with you.

HOW COACHING WORKS

Focused coaching, starting with the right diagnosis

Most Fifth Cut coaching begins with a specific leadership challenge rather than a blank page.

You may be preparing for a difficult conversation, stepping into a new role, dealing with stakeholder resistance, trying to strengthen executive presence or working through a recurring team issue.

Before any paid coaching begins, we start with a short complimentary exploration session. The purpose is to understand what is happening, make sure we are the right fit and give me enough context to prepare properly for the coaching work that follows.

Four-step process

1. Start with a complimentary exploration session
We begin with a short conversation about what is happening, why it matters now, what you have already tried and what outcome you need.

This is not the main coaching session. It is a chance to understand the situation, test fit and identify the most useful way forward.

2. Diagnose what is underneath the issue
I look beyond the visible problem to identify whether the friction sits primarily in Capability, Momentum, Presence, Wisdom, Legacy or a combination of several areas.

This helps ensure the coaching is built around the real issue rather than the first symptom that appears.

3. Prepare the right coaching pathway
Based on the exploration session, I prepare for the work in advance and recommend the most proportionate option.

That may be:

  • a focused 90-minute session

  • a six-session topic-based coaching programme

  • a broader Facets journey

  • a longer-term Forge engagement

  • or a more open coaching approach where the issue is still emerging

4. Apply it to the real situation
The paid coaching session is practical and prepared around your context.

We may rehearse a conversation, test a decision, build a stakeholder approach, refine a leadership message, practise a framework or create an action plan you can use immediately.

This is not generic coaching for the sake of coaching.

The aim is to understand the real leadership issue first, then prepare the coaching around it.

That means the paid session starts with context already established, rather than spending the first half trying to work out what the problem is.

If you are not yet sure what the issue is, that is fine too. The initial exploration session can be broader and help identify where the coaching should begin.

What coaching may include

Depending on the topic, the work may include:

  • structured questioning

  • practical Fifth Cut frameworks

  • live rehearsal

  • scenario testing

  • decision mapping

  • stakeholder analysis

  • communication refinement

  • between-session application

  • selected Fifth Cut resources

PRICING AND ACCESS

Coaching fees are provided on application and depend on the level of support, session format and length of engagement.

A reduced rate is available for eligible current and former emergency services personnel.

If you are unsure which option fits, begin with the complimentary exploration session and I will recommend the most appropriate pathway before any commitment is made.
